How to Verify a Drone Delivery Operator

Simple checks to confirm a supplier is real, authorised and still operating before you rely on them.

Check the authority

Ask for the certificate or exemption numbers and confirm them with the FAA. If a partner holds the certificate, ask for the partner’s name and a letter confirming the arrangement.

Check current operations

Look for recent, dated evidence of live deliveries (not just announcements). Programmes start and stop; some well-known operators have exited markets. Our "Historical / Inactive" tag marks programmes that appear to have ended.

Check insurance

Request a certificate of insurance showing aviation liability limits and, if relevant, hull and cargo cover. Confirm your organisation can be named as additional insured.

Check references

Speak with a customer running a similar route or volume. Ask about reliability, weather cancellations and how incidents were handled.
